Participations will not publish articles that use generative AI for the creation of article text beyond basic grammar and spelling tools.
Any article that uses generative AI for the analysis of massive datasets must declare it at the point of submission, both via email to the editors and within the body of the article itself (not in a descriptive footnote). This acknowledgement must:
- provide a detailed account of how AI has been used,
- indicate where AI generated insights feature in the argument
- justify this use, and
- critically engage with the growing body of scholarship on AI as a research method.
Peer reviewers will be informed of any use of AI and the editors cannot guarantee that its inclusion in the article will not be a factor in the peer review outcome.
Any queries regarding the use of AI should be directed to the editors: editor@participations.org
